Recently, many Windows users worldwide encountered a blue screen issue, causing significant confusion and sparking rumors of a cyber attack. However, CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz provided crucial clarifications on the matter.

Kurtz clarified that the issue is not a security incident or a cyber attack. The problem stems from a defect identified in a single content update for Windows hosts, which caused the blue screen errors on many users’ computers. Fortunately, Mac and Linux users were not affected.

CrowdStrike’s team quickly identified, isolated, and deployed fixes for the problem. For Crowdstrike solution Kurtz advised users to visit the support portal to ensure they receive the latest updates. For now, the issue seems to be resolved.

Microsoft Blue Screen issue: CrowdStrike Issue Affects Global!

A faulty update by the cybersecurity provider CrowdStrike has led to blue screen issues on Microsoft systems.

Meanwhile, Microsoft announced that some customers in the US Central region might have experienced issues with Azure services on July 18 due to a configuration change in the backend cluster management workflow. Most services have been restored, but a small portion remains affected.

This blue screen issue has impacted various sectors globally, including finance and airlines, and has generated significant buzz on social media. Some users even humorously commented, “Thanks Microsoft, for giving us a break!”

Solution for the CrowdStrike BSOD problem:

  1. Boot Windows into Safe Mode or WRE.
  2. Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\CrowdStrike.
  3. Locate and delete file matching “C-00000291*.sys”
  4. Boot normally.
